「鳥獣戯画 －戊巻 『宇宙』－」
2/8～2/27まで開催されていた「100人の鳥獣戯画」展が終了いたしました。
お忙しい中お越し下さり有難うございました。
「日本最古の漫画」とも言われる「鳥獣戯画」は京都・高山寺に所蔵されていた絵巻。
甲・乙・丙・丁の四巻から成り、最も知られているのが兎や蛙、猿などが戯れる姿が描かれた甲巻。
誰が何の為に描いたものなのか（諸説あれど）判明していないため謎多き国宝としても注目され、
昨年の東京国立博物館の展示では3時間待ちの噂も聞こえました。
…と、それらしく書いてますが、私もこのテーマを聞いてから調べた一夜漬けの知識です（笑）
今回私の作品は甲・乙・丙・丁の後に制作された「戊巻」という架空の設定で作ってみました。
地上から月までを描いている為、他の四巻と異なり縦に展開する絵巻となっています。
紙の継ぎ目は通常「高山寺」の印が縦に押してありますが、こちらは横に印が押してあります。
「鳥獣戯画」はのびのびとした墨画が印象的なので、ここはひとつと思い和紙に墨で描きました。
こういう機会にいろいろ試しておくといろいろな発見があります。
一発描きを切り抜いて貼った半立体、というところは昨年の個展と同じですが、和紙に筆だと雰囲気が変わりますね。
今後取り入れてみても良いかもしれません。
手法はさておき、動物が楽しく戯れている様が出ていると嬉しいなと思います。
Planned exhibition "Chojyu-giga by 100 persons" finished last month.
"Chojyu-jinbutu-giga"is a famous set of four picture scrolls, or emakimono, belonging to Kōzan-ji temple in Kyoto, Japan. The Chōjū-giga scrolls are also referred to as Scrolls of Frolicking Animals and Scrolls of Frolicking Animals and Humans in English. Some think that Toba Sōjō created the scrolls; however, it seems clear from the style that more than one artist is involved. The right-to-left reading direction of Chōjū-jinbutsu-giga is traditional in East Asia, and is still common in Japan. Chōjū-jinbutsu-giga is also credited as the oldest work of manga. This time, I exhibited the work "Chojyu-giga The 5th volume ‘the universe’" that is an invented story by me.
It is different to the previous four works of "Chojyu-giga", unfolds lengthwise.
Because it is drawn the sky.
I drew it with brush on Japanese paper.
It’s a drawing without draft. Then I cut and put it. This technique is similar to works of the solo exhibition of last year.
But it seems that it is different by Japanese paper.
Anyway, if I could express the situation that animals play happily, I am glad.
